A file format developed by Adobe Systems which preserves fonts, images, graphics and layout of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. Raster Image – (Also called a bitmap image.) A computer image that is composed of tiny dots (pixels). Raster images cannot be scaled upward without a loss in quality. Vector Image – A specifically designed computer image in which lines are defined as a mathematical formula that can be resized to virtually any dimension without a loss in quality. Logos or artwork to be used on a jacket should be submitted in the vector file format. |

hook and loop – A fastening tape consisting of a strip of nylon with a surface of minute hooks that fasten to a corresponding strip with a surface of uncut pile. Barrier jackets are fastened with hook and loop wraps, which are more secure than tabs or standard strips. |
